Unmissable Anglesey
Join a garden tour this summer to discover more about the plants, trees, flowers and history of the gardens at Anglesey Abbey.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Follow one of our knowledgeable garden guides on a tour of the gardens, taking in seasonal highlights on the way. Tours run at 11am and 1.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, starting at the visitor centre. If you'd like to join a garden tour, please ask a member of the welcome team for more information when you arrive.
Tours vary, taking in different routes and garden highlights throughout the summer.
Look out for the Golden Rain Tree in the Pool Garden, as well as summer planting by the Skylight Garden on East Lawn. And don't miss the Herbaceous Border, where you can see up to 150 varieties of perennials in flower.
The Rose Garden is always a highlight at Anglesey Abbey, with the first roses usually appearing in June. The Rose Garden was extended in 2024 and you can now see 60 varieties of English rose, some in bloom for their second summer. You can also see three beautiful climbing roses on the walls of the house at Anglesey Abbey.
Other seasonal highlights include the dwarf dahlias currently putting on a show in the Formal Garden, Lime trees and Philadelphus species, as well as the cyclamen path and Dahlia Border later in the summer.
These garden tours are free, but we would gratefully receive a £5 donation that goes towards caring for Anglesey Abbey.
