Follow the butterfly way markers around the 15th-century farm and see how we’re helping nature from re-wetting work to wildflower margins and woodland creation. Take in views across the coast to Lundy Island, look out for seals at Shipload Bay, and enjoy the wildflowers in bloom during the summer. This short route is step free and has plenty of benches along the way to sit and enjoy the view.

Start point

Start at East Titchberry National Trust car park, grid reference: SS244270.

    Start point

Start at East Titchberry National Trust car park, grid reference: SS244270.

    Stage 1

Next to the information board at the back of the car park, pass through the gap in the hedge and turn left through the gate into the farm yard. Take the next right and head along the track, with high hedges on either side, passing through a wooden gate.

    Stage 2

Follow the track, heading up a gentle incline, to where it curves around to the left.

    Stage 3

Keep following the track around the corner between the fields on either side. On the left you can see arable fields with wildflower margins that come alive with colour in summer. Follow the track until you meet a junction.

    Stage 4

At the junction, turn left and head along the South West Coast path. Take in the views across the coastline and Shipload bay. On a clear day you can see out to Lundy Island, keep an eye out for seals bobbing in the bay.

    Stage 5

When you reach another path junction, turn left down a narrow high hedge path and head back towards East Titchberry farm, when you reach a gate pass through and continue straight on. You will pass the old Malthouse on your left and the farm house on your right. Continue straight through the gate out of the farm yard and back into the car park.
