Stepping into Parkinson’s and nature: Couch to 5K running programme
Developed alongside our Parkinson’s walking programme this running group will help those living with Parkinson's become more active or maintain an active lifestyle and get out in nature at Kingston Lacy.
- Booking essential
- Free event
This programme has adapted the popular Couch to 5k programme for those with Parkinson's and their carers to get the pulse rate going whilst spending time in the beautiful surroundings of Kingston Lacy.
Delivered by an England Athletics trained leader and based on a specially designed 12-week Couch to 5k programme, whether you jog or run, you'll have nature on your side.
You will be joined and supported by a friendly, sociable group of runners and will have the opportunity to join up with those taking part in the Parkinson’s walking and Nordic Walking in the café after each session.
Through the programme we can also offer advice on how running can enable you to keep active whilst living with Parkinson's and and you will receive ideas and guidance to help you stay active between sessions.
Programme commences on Monday 7 September 2026 at 2pm and will run for 12 weeks. You can start this programme up until Monday 21 September 2026.
Not sure running is for you? Take a look at our Stepping into Parkinson’s and nature: walking programme or Dorset Council’s Nordic Walking for Parkinson’s. These take place alongside the walking group, and you get to be part of the same sociable group.
