Christmas 2023 has now finished at Emmetts Garden

The below is information for Christmas 2023. We hope you enjoyed all that we had on offer. Please check back here closer to Christmas 2024 when you will see updates of all the exciting plans we have in store for you.

Children’s Christmas trail

2 December - 3 January, 10am-3.30pm. Normal admission applies. £3 per trail including an activity booklet and festive prize.

This Christmas at Emmetts Garden there is festive fun for all the family.

Emmetts Garden is named after the giant ant hills that covered the estate in the 20th century and ‘Emmett’ is the old English for ‘Ant’. So, what better way to celebrate Christmas than drawing on our history to fuel our festive imaginations.

Join the trail around the garden and discover willow sculptures telling the tale of the ants of Emmetts Garden at Christmas. Become Anta’s little helper and help the Ants get ready for Christmas, solving puzzles along the way.

If you are lucky enough, you might just catch a glimpse of Anta Claus himself! He is often reading Christmas letters in his South Garden office and it is rumoured that he loves to drive the 'Bugmobile'...

There is also the chance to take a seat in Anta Claus' special sleigh. Make sure to take a photo of this festive scene by Old Stables Tearoom.

Christmas in the garden

This festive season, Emmetts Garden will be beautifully decorated with Christmas trees, lanterns and a painted icicle window display. A 12-foot Christmas tree adorned with natural handmade decorations will welcome you into the garden. Don’t miss our magical sleigh scene which sits at the top of the garden looking out over glorious countryside.

Take a crisp winter walk through the gardens and woodland and appreciate the magnificent viewpoints over the Weald of Kent. Visit in the morning to see the sleepy landscape awaken with dustings of early morning frost.

Willow reindeer workshop

Craft your own willow reindeer at Emmetts Garden with the Nature Makers on 19 & 20 December 10.30am-12.30pm. The willow reindeer workshop is perfect for families and is suitable for ages 8+. Tickets include a hot drink and a piece of cake at the Old Stables Tearoom.
