Summer of Play: dressing up and brass rubbing
Step back in time and discover how fashions, accessories and styles have changed through the centuries in this free, drop-in session.

Dress up in costumes inspired by different periods of history. Then it's time to try the traditional art of brass rubbing and reveal beautiful patterns and designs. This is a free drop-in activity and booking is not required.
Children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

- Accessibility
The garden is steep in places with steps and gravel, cobbles and grass pathways - please speak to staff on arrival for the best route for your needs. Disabled parking is available near visitor reception but there is some gravel in areas of the car park. Pushchairs are permitted in all areas of the garden, but please take care as are many open water areas around the garden.
- Meeting point
These drop-in sessions take place on the North Lawn or Squire's Room in the event of wet weather.
- What to bring and wear
Please dress for the variations of a British summer!
