Guided Walk: Ancient Trees and Magnificent Murals

Discover spectacular ancient trees and a historic mural with a guided walk to Helsington Church. Booking is essential.

Standing proud on the estate for centuries, Sizergh’s ancient trees tell the story of the landscape. Learn more about these trees whilst you discover beautiful views across the Lyth Valley and the Lake District fells. Our friendly, knowledgeable volunteers will lead the way, and you’ll explore farmland and ancient limestone woodland. You can even enjoy a magnificent mural at the picturesque St John’s Church. This walk will take about two hours.

Please meet outside Visitor Reception (in the main building just off the car park).

What to bring and wear

Please wear stout footwear and suitable clothing for the weather on the day (walking boots and waterproofs are always recommended!)

The walks are free, but please remember our car park is pay and display (or if you're a National Trust member, please scan your membership card at the machine for a free ticket). Any donations towards the upkeep of the estate would be greatly appreciated.
