Follow in the footsteps of celebrated historian George M. Trevelyan on this 3.5km (2.2-mile) walk. He first began holidaying in Langdale in 1905 and over the next 50 years, his trips here inspired him to become its chief protector, with dedicated hard work and vision.

Stage 1
Leave the car park to the north, go through the gate and head towards Stickle Ghyll. Follow the path through the gap in the wall, head up the hill, pass the Stickle Ghyll sign on your right and turn left after 20m.
Stage 2
Head uphill, go through a kissing gate and follow this path, keeping the wall on your left until you cross a bridge over Dungeon Ghyll Force.
