Visit Canons Ashby to enjoy the beautiful gardens, the historic house, the medieval church and green outdoor spaces. Canons Ashby is open 10am – closing at 5pm. The house is open 11.30am – last admission at 3.30pm.
On Sunday 15 September, come to see what’s on our nature table from 10.30am-2pm to look through our collection of nature curiosities, and handle some real treasures of the natural world.
Whilst you’re here, pop into the shop to collect a souvenir or treat yourself in the tea-room to a cream tea or a light lunch.
Free entry on these days only as part of Heritage Open Days. There’s no need to book in advance.
Times
The basics
- Accessibility
Access to the church is across the paddock, which is uneven grass and can be wet or muddy, over a public road, through a gate, and through a door up a ramp. The floor is an uneven historic stone floor. The church is echoey but light and open inside. It can be noisy. The nature table will be taking place outdoors. There will be no steps or slopes up to it.

Park in the main visitor car park and start your visit at Visitor Reception as usual.

- What to bring and wear
Please dress for whatever the weather brings. Be aware that there are uneven surfaces outdoors, as well as steps, slopes and stairs both inside and outside. The Nature Table will be outdoors.

We can show people of all ages our nature items. Please come and join us, both families and adults.
