Christmas time at Oxburgh Estate

Step into the magic of Christmas at Oxburgh Estate this December. The Hall will be beautifully dressed for the season with traditional decorations throughout the downstairs rooms and the magic of the season will be brought to life through our enchanting woodland creature winter tale, 'A Home for Christmas'. Father Chritsmas will also once again be in residence in The Potting Shed bookshop delivering a Christmas story or two. Read on to find out more...

Inside the Hall - 'A Home for Christmas' | National Trust

Step into the magic of Christmas at Oxburgh Estate this December. The Hall will be beautifully dressed for the festive season and brought to life through our enchanting woodland creature winter tale, 'A Home for Christmas'.

Follow Sybil Swan on her Christmas Eve journey as she braves an approaching snowstorm to check on her woodland friends.

As you wander through the beautifully decorated Hall you’ll meet Felix Fox, Oscar Otter, Barty Barn Owl, Violet Water Vole, and Holly Hedgehog each tucked away safely into their winter homes ready for Christmas.

This magical story of kindness, friendship and the joy of finding ‘A Home for Christmas’ makes Oxburgh the perfect place to celebrate the festive season.

Standard admission charges apply. National Trust members enter for free. 

 

Story telling with Father Christmas

CHRISTMAS: Story telling with Father Christmas | National Trust

Join Father Christmas and settle in for a yuletide tale in Oxburgh’s festive second-hand bookshop. After the story, Father Christmas will have a small gift for you to take home.

Due to the cosy size of the bookshop, there is a maximum of 1 free accompanying adult per ticketed child. Sorry but buggies and prams must be left outside.

Standard admission charges apply. National Trust members enter for free. 

 

Storytelling with Father Christmas (SEN Event)

Join Father Christmas and settle in for a yuletide tale in Oxburgh’s festive Potting Shed bookshop. After the story, Father Christmas will have a small gift for you to take home.

This session is designed for aimed at individuals with autism, those who are neurodivergent, or anyone with sensory needs. 

These sessions are held in a calmer and more comfortable setting which includes a lowered visitor capacity, raised light levels and  a reductiom in loud noises. Sensory items and touch bean bags will also be available.

Our friendly team are trained in disability awareness and are on hand to answer any questions you may have of assist with accessibility requirements. Due to the cozy size of the bookshop, each ticket welcomes one child with one accompanying adult for this event only. As the space is small, buggies and prams will need to be left outside.

Festive Family Crafts in the Gun Room

Embrace the spirit of Christmas with a range of festive crafts. Come along and create beautiful decorations to take home and treasure.

10:30am to 3pm daily from Saturday 23 November to Sunday 4 January 2026.
