Easter egg hunt at Gibside 2026
This spring, treat the whole family to a world of adventure at Gibside on an Easter trail.

Make your way along the trail and find 10 activities for the whole family. Hop along the Avenue and through the Walled Garden, stopping at each trail activity station.
Families can enjoy music and movement, lawn games, hobby horse racing, sack races, welly‑wanging and more. Little explorers can also try the spinners, spot giant bugs, hunt for eggs and chicks, make a poem with log‑slice words or unwind at the yoga station.
The trail takes place between Saturday 28 March to Sunday 19 April, from 10am to 3pm, so come along and explore Gibside. Prices are £3.50 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg.
There's so much to do, once Easter is over, come back to Gibside the following week to join the trail again!
*Suitable for people with milk, egg, gluten, peanut and tree nut allergies.

Head to Visitor Reception on arrival. They'll let you know where to collect your trail sheet.

The trail is outdoors, dress appropriately for the weather.

The trail follows existing pathways and grassy areas.

This event is aimed at families, but everyone is welcome. Trails will be sold between 10am and 3pm. Gibside closes at 5pm. The trail will take around 2 hours to complete.
