Festival of Blossom: City Nature Challenge pop-up stall
Open the door to knowledge about nature.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Join the City Nature team for friendly introduction to the City Nature Challenge and discover how simple technology can help you notice more of the wildlife around you.
The City Nature Challenge is an international event, motivating people around the world to find and document wildlife in their own cities. It’s an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April, where cities collaborate to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal.
At the pop-up, have a go with the iNaturalist app on one of our iPads, learn how to record what you see, and then head out to spot blossom‑season plants, insects and birds across Gibside.
It’s an easy, enjoyable way to explore the estate and see how digital tools can open up a whole new world of nature.
The pop-up stall is a drop‑in activity for all ages, especially those curious about the wildlife right on their doorstep.
