Clumber Park Great Big Tree Climbing
Your final chance in 2026 to explore Clumber Park's beautiful Pleasure Grounds from the tree tops with The Great Big Tree Climbing Company.
- Booking essential
Using ropes and harnesses, ascend into the canopy of one of Clumber Park's majestic trees and enjoy an exhilarating adventure at new heights.
During your climb, you will learn how to safely reach the top of giant trees and take in the views of the Chapel of St Mary and surrounding parkland. You can hang out in the canopy or venture further out onto the branches if you're feeling brave, before returning safely to the ground.
This activity is suitable for ages 6 years and over, and each session is run for up to 8 people, creating a unique and intimate experience. We encourage the whole family to participate, or feel free to watch and photograph that special moment of your child climbing high into the canopy of a tree for the first time.

Our climbing technique does require you to have a reasonable level of strength in your upper and lower body. The majority of work is done with your legs but participants are required to be active and healthy. We are able to help children who struggle but adults who are unable to carry out the technique can not be pulled up by our instructors.
- Meeting point
Please arrive at the Information Point 20 minutes before your booked session where you will be given directions to the tree climbing area. There is a short 2 minute walk to the Pleasure Grounds.
- Suitability for children
Suitable for children aged 6 and above
- What to bring and wear
You'll be scaling a tree in a harness, so please dress appropriately for the activity. We recommend trousers and sturdy shoes, as well as warm clothes if the weather is cold.
