Herbs are on the rise! Growing, foraging and history - what were they quoting in Hamnet? - come and find out more!
An introductory talk from Western Medical Herbalist and trustee of The Herb Society, Kate Morgan-Owen BA, BSc, MNIMH.
With the Herb Society centenary in 2027, Kate will talk about the relevant messages for today from the history that shaped the herbal revival in the 1920s, and consider how interest in all things herbal is growing again. She will outline how professional and home herbal medicine are approached, demonstrating with the plants that grow all around us. Kate will bring a selection of herbal preparations and books to examine.
Examples are rosemary, mugwort, chamomile, valerian, hawthorn, catnip, rosehips, marshmallow, dandelion, plantain....
There are 3 seasonal herb walks planned around the gardens of Grantham House later this year.
Tea and coffee provided. 50 minute talk, 30 mins discussions and demonstrations.
