Step into a world of myths and legends this October half term, from 25 October – 3 November, as The Children’s Country House opens its doors daily for autumnal adventures.
Discover a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, from nature weaving with Minerva and a fun maze, to following the trail of ancient gods and stories hidden throughout the Hall in portraits and collection items.
The property is open daily throughout the week, with the cafe also serving a selection of seasonal delights.

Aimed at families and children.
- What to bring and wear
Some activities take place in the garden, so we recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing.
- Accessibility
Activities take place across the gardens and the whole property with some uneven terrain and steps along the route. There is lift access in the Museum and Cafe and the Stableyard is accessible with wheelchairs, walking aids and mobility scooters. We provide an electric vehicle transfer available to transport visitors from the car park to the property.
