- Free event
Step inside this remarkable 17th-century farmhouse, once a hiding place for King Charles II, and experience the sights and stories of life in the 1600s. You might even encounter a costumed character or two bringing the past to life in the very rooms where history happened.
This Heritage Weekend, don't miss our pop-up talk on 13 September, led by one of our knowledgeable volunteers, focusing on the fascinating life of Catholic priest John Huddleston. Discover how Huddleston once found refuge at Moseley Old Hall, was present when Charles II arrived in 1651, and later played a key role at the king’s deathbed in 1685. Learn how a chance discovery in a Liverpool bookshop brought an important book back to Moseley. Talks last around 20 minutes and will take place at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 2pm each day.
In the gardens and orchard, celebrate the apple harvest with heritage varieties of apples, pears, quinces and medlars. Taste different apple varieties, purchase your favourites and sample some freshly pressed juice.
Families can enjoy traditional lawn games and adventure in our garden, woodland, meadow and treehide.
No booking needed. Free entry all weekend. Small charge for purchase of apples - cash only.
