Summer of Play 2026: Summer Knights' Quest
The gardens are transforming into a medieval playground this summer!

From 18th July, young adventurers are invited to play their way around Dunster Castle’s knight‑themed activity zones and earn their title as a Knight of Dunster Castle.
Come back week after week to enjoy a changing programme of hands‑on fun, from archery and forest school to sword‑fighting knights and more!
Head to our 'Tournament Arena' on green court where you can hone your knightly skills in archery, hobby-horse jousting, wooden sword play, target games and more. Don't forget to capture a photo in the stocks!
Step onto the dancefloor at 'Knight's Court'. Practice your jester skills and become a star of the court in this outdoor performance space.
Finally, head over to 'Camp Dunster' to immerse yourself in the River Gardens natural play area. Become a knight of the 'oblong table' and design your very own coat-of-arms.

The terrain is steep and uneven in places. There is a courtesy vehicle that can take visitors from the car park to the castle. We have two trampers available to hire in a morning or afternoon slot. Please give us a call on 01643821314 to book.
