This talk by Anna Sparham, National Trust Photography Curator, and Alice Strickland, National Trust Curator, explores the photographic work and style of Alice Hughes (31 August 1857 – 4 April 1939).
A British portrait photographer and businesswoman, Alice Hughes specialised in images of royalty, fashionable women and children. During her most successful periods, she employed up to 60 women and took up to 15 sittings a day.

The house can be cold, so please dress appropriately.

A volunteer-run shuttle bus service runs from the welcome area to the house, subject to availability. House entrance is step-free. Toilet facilities (incl. accessible toilet) available on site.

No dogs allowed inside the house except for assistance dogs. Please bring proof of tickets on the day. The café will be open serving light refreshments.
