Local Craft Makers Pop-up Shop

This spring be inspired by the work of local craft makers in the home of Rudyard Kipling.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Explore locally made crafts in our pop-up shop. With a selection of jewellery, quilts and ceramics all inspired by Sussex.

About the makers:

Louise Bell is a quilt artist who makes patchwork and appliqué quilts. Louise uses Liberty lawns for their rich and colourful designs as well as American cottons and silks.

Annie McCabe is a flame glass artist who hand makes each of the glass beads used in her contemporary jewellery using the 14th century Venetian techniques of flameworking. Annie’s inspiration comes from the natural world, particularly the landscape, sea and the Downs near Brighton.

Linda Connelly is a multi-award winning Enamel Artist who designs and makes exquisite jewellery and small silver pieces inspired by places and memories. Her work is vibrantly coloured and beautifully finished. Linda uses traditional enamelling skills such as cloisonné, champlevé and basse-taille to make contemporary and unique pieces. Her work has won multiple awards in the annual Goldsmith’s Craftsmanship and Design Awards.

Anne Barrell is a ceramicist who has studied in both New York and London with her work decorated with all things to do with the sea and coast featured. As each piece is handmade and painted, they all have their own character.

There will be an opportunity to talk to the artists about their work, enjoy demonstrations and buy their crafts.
