Join the Bateman’s garden team for a selection of harvest and apple themed short talks.

The Bateman’s vegetable garden and heritage orchard will be in full harvesting swing. In these free 15 minute informal talks, find out what the team at Bateman’s are up to during autumn and pick up some practical tips.
Vegetable garden: Hear about the autumn crops, the no-dig policy and preparing for end of season and the winter ahead (23 & 26 Sep).
Apple ID: From crabapples to cider apples, head gardener Len will take you through how to ID apples, showing examples from the Bateman’s orchard (22, 24 & 25 Sep).
Compost Talks: See the behind the scenes composting area and find out about the importance of composting and mulching for soil health (20 & 21 Sep).
