Summer Saturday picnics at Aberdulais Falls
Every Saturday throughout the school summer holidays we'll be hosting free & themed picnics at Aberdulais.
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Starting on 18 July & ending on 29 August we have a fun series of themed picnics planned. These picnics are family friendly, designed for all ages, relaxed & completely free to attend.
The themes are:
18 July – Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Bring your favourite cuddly toy with your picnic, the more the merrier!
25 July – Craft
Bring your favourite craft to do while you enjoy your picnic. We’ll also have colouring sheets, origami & crayons for doing rubbings around the site. There’s also a drop spindle workshop which you can book separately.
1 August – Game & Pokémon card trading
Bring your favourite board or card game with your picnic. There’ll be a trading table where you can trade/play Pokémon cards.
8 August – High in the sky
Bring your own binoculars or borrow some from our second-hand bookshop to do a spot of birdwatching during your picnic. We’ll have spotter sheets so you can identify the birds you see.
15 August – Minibeasts
Borrow mini microscopes & minibeast identification cards from the second-hand bookshop & discover all the creepy crawlies that make Aberdulais their home.
22 August – Flora and fauna
Borrow an identification card & go round the site identifying all the beautiful little things that live & grow at Aberdulais.
29 August – Paws at the Falls
Bring your four-legged friends to round out our summer of Saturday picnics. Greyhound Rescue Wales will be here (if the weather is good, they may also bring some rescue greyhounds for an hour).
