An Enchanted Christmas
28 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, 11am to 3.30pm (last tickets sold 2.50pm, last entry 3pm).
You've received an invitation to one of the grandest Christmas parties of the season. Step inside Powis Castle and discover magnificent decorations, festive feasting and a little mouse-sized mischief, as the castle is transformed for a Victorian Christmas celebration.
Keep your eyes peeled for charming little mice, dressed for their frosty adventure.
Normal admission applies and National Trust members can get in for free.
Courtyard Illuminations
12-13 and 18-22 December
Step into the historic courtyard and enjoy sparkling illuminations upon the medieval castle walls. Sip on a warming hot chocolate or glass of mulled wine, as the castle lights up the dark winters night before venturing inside the castle.

The Christmas Stockings Trail
28 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, 10am to 4pm.
Step into the magic of Christmas at Powis Castle and Garden and follow a festive trail inspired by the timeless tradition of hanging Christmas stockings.
Wander through the garden in search of colourful stockings and handcrafted wicker ornaments. Along the way, pause at the Orangery and peer into a cosy winter scene, beautifully dressed for Christmas and filled with festive charm.
Breakfast with Father Christmas returns every weekend from 28 November to 13 December. Gather in the Courtyard Cafe for a buffet-style breakfast, and watch little faces light up as Father Christmas makes his magical entrance. Then gather for a festive story and a small gift from Father Christmas.
This festive season, Powis Castle invites you to experience the wonder of Christmas - whether by stepping into an Enchanted Christmas, enjoying breakfast with Santa, or marvelling at the stunning light displays. It’s a heartwarming holiday destination for all ages!

Pull on your winter woollies and blow away the cobwebs with a stroll in the world-famous Baroque Garden. Winter is the best time to appreciate the garden's architectural beauty. See statues sparkling in the frost along the Italianate Terraces, admire ancient evergreen yew hedges standing proud in the winter sun and walk through the Wilderness where bare branches reveal magnificent views of the 13th-century castle.
The garden is open daily throughout December from 10am to 4pm (closed 25 and 26 December).
Dogs on short leads are welcome in the garden from November to Feburary.
If you’re feeling peckish or need something to warm you up, there’s plenty of delicious treats and drinks available in the Courtyard Café throughout December. From cakes and mince pies, to festive hot chocolates and afternoon teas, Christmas is the best time to treat yourself.
The Courtyard Shop is well stocked throughout December to ensure you can find the perfect gifts for yourself and your loved ones this Christmas. From cosy throws and stylish scarves, to festive candles and gorgeous jewellery, what will your lucky someone receive?
