Sarah Hobley is 2025 Artist in Residence at National Trust Avebury. She is primarily a sculptor but works also in paint and ceramics. She had a solo show in the Avebury threshing barn in 2024 and took part in the 2023 sculpture exhibition.
Throughout the year, she has walked through the surrounding countryside, noticing the unique features of the landscape on that particular day, such as the flow, the colour, the contrasts of light and shade, the behaviour of the birds, and the way the grass grows.
Sarah’s residency culminates with her 'Walking the Landscape' exhibition in the threshing barn. On show will be sculpted and painted ceramics evoking the sensory experiences of these walks.
Join Sarah in the barn on Saturday 1 November as she demonstrates some of the techniques used to create her incredible Avebury-inspired collection.
