Festival of Archaeology Day

Join the team for a hands-on archaeological adventure through Avebury's fascinating history.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event

Step into the past and uncover hidden stories as you become an archaeologist for the day.

The Festival of Archaeology Day will include digging for buried treasures in our sandpit digs, and the chance to get creative by crafting your own nature-inspired designs on clay tablets.

You can also explore the site’s fascinating history through an interactive timeline and put your discovery skills to the test with our Heritage Explorer Challenge and colouring sheets.

Whether you’re curious, creative, or keen to investigate, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

All the Festival of Archaeology Day activities are free and will be available between 11am and 3pm.
