Storytime with Mother Christmas - Relaxed Session

Meet Mother Christmas for Storytime in the Lacock festive grotto. A relaxed session for those with additional sensory, educational and emotional needs.

This is an accessible session of the popular Storytime with Mother Christmas experiences in the Lacock Christmas grotto. With reduced numbers, no music, sensory toys and a slower more relaxed pace. There will be space to step away and return as needed.

Storytime with Mother Christmas will last approximately 25 minutes and includes a gift.

Accessible parking and toilet facilities nearby with step-free access to the Servant's Hall. An access statement is available on our website.

If your circumstances do not require the relaxed session, please book an alternative experience as spaces on this session are limited.

Each child event ticket also includes entry to the abbey grounds, cloister and decorated Great Hall. Normal admission applies for non-member adults.

Meeting point

Meet at Cloister door to start your visit. It's a short walk to the grotto from the abbey gates so please allow at least 15 minutes to get to there.

What to bring and wear

Dress in your festive best, but wrap up warm. The grotto is cosy but there is a short walk through the grounds to get there.

Accessibility

The Christmas grotto is on the ground floor accessed via the abbey cloister, with some steps. If you require step free access please let us know and we will accommodate you.

Other

The experience will last approximately 25 minutes. Booking is essential. This event is aimed at children of Primary School age. presents will be available for 0-2, 3-5 & 6+ Each child ticket also includes free entry to the abbey grounds, cloister and decorated Great Hall. Each accompanying adult will need to pay the normal admission fee, National Trust members go free. Accompanying adults do not require event tickets in addition to grounds entry purchased on the day
