The Regency Social Season: Mrs Portman's Ball

You are cordially invited to Mrs Portman's summer ball.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

This summer at Mompesson House, Mrs Portman is holding a Regency ball. Come and learn about what went into hosting a ball, what kind of shenanigans might have happened and even how to tell someone to leave you alone just by using a fan. There is something for everybody this summer. For grown ups who want to be more involved, we have an immersive activity trail based on choosing your Regency character. Families and younger visitors will have our free spotter activity sheet based on the trail. We'll have crafting activities in the house throughout the summer holidays, as well as one-off events. We will also have garden games outside, including our Regency croquet set (suitable for big and little arms).
