This autumn, celebrate creativity at Croome with a season of inspiring workshops, events and drop-in activities, including opportunities to take part in the Big Draw Festival throughout October.

Botanical Drawing Workshop with Catt Standen

Saturday 12 September, 10am - 1.30pm

Join visual artist Catt Standen for an immersive botanical drawing workshop at Croome and be inspired by the landscapes, plant life and historic architecture of Croome. Suitable for all abilities, this creative day will help you develop your observational drawing skills while exploring Croome’s rich botanical legacy. All materials are provided, including a complimentary sketchbook, and admission to Croome is included in the ticket price.

The Big Draw Festival

This October, Croome is taking part in The Big Draw Festival, a worldwide celebration of drawing. The Big Draw is an arts education charity dedicated to raising the profile of drawing as a tool for wellbeing, thought, creativity, and social and cultural engagement. This year's theme is “Make a Mark’, reflecting on the lasting impact of creativity and how drawing builds creative legacies across people, places and generations.

The Big Draw: Drawing Sessions

Wednesday 7, 14, 21, and 28 October, 11am - 3pm

Every Wednesday in October, we'll be hosting a volunteer-led drawing session in the Long Gallery where you can let your creativity flow alongside other like-minded people, with a chance to learn some tips and tricks for creating your next masterpiece.

Architectural Sketch Crawl with Catt Standen

Monday 19 October, 10.30am - 2pm

Inspired by this year’s Big Draw Festival theme, Make a Mark, join us for an Architectural Sketch Crawl at Croome. Led by visual artist Catt Standen, this immersive workshop invites you to explore Croome’s remarkable architecture, much of it designed by celebrated neo-classical architect Robert Adam, while developing your sketching skills in perspective, observation and line work. With materials provided, including a complimentary sketchbook, you’ll create and develop your own artistic response to Croome’s enduring creative legacy. Admission is included with the event ticket.

Still Life and Life Drawing Day Workshop with Catt Standen

Saturday 14 November, 10am - 5pm

Join visual artist Catt Standen for a creative day of still life and life drawing in Croome’s historic Long Gallery. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, this workshop offers the chance to develop your observational drawing skills through guided exercises exploring light, composition and the human form. With all materials provided, including a complimentary sketchbook and canvas boards to take home, participants can enjoy a full day of artistic inspiration while the house is closed to visitors.

Please note: participants must be aged 18 or over to attend this workshop.
