Big Bog Day at the Mill
Celebrate the wonder of peatlands with a day of talks, events and activities.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Join us in the Mill for a two-day celebration of all things blanket bog! Visitors can enjoy talks, films, hands-on demonstrations, creative workshops and family activities.
We're pleased to share that Bryologist (that's a Dr of mosses) Johnny Turner will be giving a special talk on Sunday, 26 April, exploring the wonder of sphagnum moss and the vital contribution it makes to healthy peatland ecosystems.
The interactive Bogtastic Van will also be on site on Sunday, offering an engaging look at peatland science and restoration.
The weekend marks the final chance to explore The Peat Appreciation Society art exhibition, a creative interpretation of the textures, stories and importance of blanket bogs.
Through imaginative artworks and collaborative storytelling, the exhibition reveals why peatlands matter more than ever. Blending science with creativity, it invites you to explore these vital landscapes and discover how protecting them can spark real action for nature.
