Who were the builders of the Wentworth estate? Discover the story behind some of the most iconic structures on site during this friendly volunteer-led walk.
Over the last 350 years, the owners of Wentworth Castle Gardens have added, altered and restored buildings around the estate to reflect their personal interests and lifestyle.
During a gentle walk around the formal gardens, you will discover the ambitions of some of the different builders of Wentworth - and how this has translated into the architecture of Stainborough Castle, the Sun monument and the Victorian Conservatory.

About 75% of the paths on these three walks are hard-standing. Some urban mobility scooters, buggies and wheelchairs might struggle to manage the whole route. However, the personal mobility scooters available to hire from Visitor Reception would be suitable. To book one or make further enquiries, please email wentworthcastlegardens@nationaltrust.org.uk.

The walk is approximately 1.5km, lasts 90 minutes and includes several stopping points around the gardens. Dogs are welcome but please keep on a short, fixed leash.
