Wildlings mask making

Join us for some family fun this October half term at our folklore themed craft drop-in sessions for all the family.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Inspired by old legends told across Europe — of ghostly riders, howling hounds, and antlered spirits that charge through the forests and skies on stormy nights. They wildlings leave signs in nature behind them — like strange fungi or twisted branches — and only those who know the secrets of the woods can spot their trail…

This October half-term, journey into the heart of ancient folklore with our wildlings children’s trail and character craft activity. Discover the hidden symbols of the hunt, create your own mystical masks, and follow the enchanted path through the autumn woods. Inspired by traditional tales, this family-friendly adventure blends myth, nature, and magic.

Call into the Blackbourn room in the conservatory building between 11am & 3pm. The sessions are free, but donations are welcome to help us run more workshops like this in the future.

Why not continue your adventure throughout the gardens on our wildlings hunt trail? Discover the characters from the tales through mysterious signs and fungi folklore.

Please note the trail will run throughout half term and into November, crafts are on limited dates only.
