Visiting Wallington with your dog

General Manager and dog by the dragon's heads at Wallington, Northumberland

Bring your dog along on your visit to Wallington and explore this special place with your special friend.

Where can my dog go?

As a large outdoor property, there are miles of walks you can do with your dog on your visit. Dogs are welcome in all the outdoor areas of Wallington including the woodlands, on the River and Farm walk and in the walled garden.

Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when on the property as we have an abundance of wildlife that must not be disturbed, as we all as livestock grazing on the tenant farms.

Assistance dogs are allowed in the House, cafe and shops.

Where can't my dog go?

Dogs are not allowed in the play areas. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the House, cafe and shops.

What do I need to be aware of?

To make sure everyone has an enjoyable day, please follow our Canine Code:

  • Take the lead: help reduce the chance of your pup disturbing wildlife by keeping them on a lead.
  • Scoop the poop: bag it and bin it to keep your favourite places beautiful
  • Paws for thought: look out for information signs
  • Be on the ball: not everyone loves dogs, so keep them close by

Facilities available for my dog

There are water bowls in the Courtyard and outside Visitor Welcome. Litter bins can be found in the Courtyard and at the entrance to the East woods. Doggy treats are available to purchase from the cafe and shop.

Meet Scooby

Scooby, our General Manager's Golden Doodle, is a daily visitor. He enjoys his regular walk through the woods and along by the river. He often meets red squirrels on his walk and is well-loved by staff and visitors alike so he gets plenty of fuss and attention.
