The Long Barn Café at Wentworth Castle Gardens
Enjoy a small but delicious range of seasonal and locally sourced bites served in the Long Barn Café, a short walk from the carpark and perfectly placed to start your day out. All profits go back into the upkeep and conservation of our special place, so don’t feel any guilt about enjoying that extra slice of cake.
What's on the menu?
Our café has reopened and will initially be serving a limited range of takeaway hot and cold drinks and some light snacks. We’ve introduced new safety measures including closure of our seating areas, screens at our till and collection points, and waymarked routes. We’ll also only be accepting card payment. We look forward to welcoming you back and know that you will support us to make this a safe experience for everyone.
We are proud to have achieved the Soil Association’s Bronze ‘Food For Life’ Award. You can be assured that:
• All of our eggs and milk are free range
• Our meats are red tractor approved
• Our tea and coffee are fairtrade
• We prioritise local ingredients where we can
Our takeaway packaging and cutlery are made from plants not plastic, and fully compostable.
*NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE*
Children’s picnic boxes are available with a sandwich, drink, two snacks and a sweet treat. We also have plenty of highchairs available for our smallest guests.
Dogs are welcome! (once indoor seating is reinstated)
From Monday to Friday, well-behaved dogs are welcome to sit inside with you. During school holidays, bank holidays and weekends we have plenty of seating outside with views over our parkland and for miles beyond (not at the moment, due to lockdown). A ‘doggy drinking station’ is situated outside the Café.
• The Long Barn Café is open 10am- 4pm (summer), 10am- 3pm (winter)
• Hot food is served 11:30- 3pm
• Currently we can only accept card payments
• A small souvenir selection is also available at the café counter
For everybody's safety please follow the signs including keeping to the one-way system, wearing a face covering and using hand sanitiser as you enter.
Please note that the toilets are not open at the Long Barn, as we cannot do this safely. You will find toilets, including an accessible toilet, at the conservatory.
