Christmas at Allan Bank

As the days start to get colder and the nights draw in, images of roaring log fires, homemade mince pies and hot cups of cocoa begin to appear at the front of our minds – A sign that Christmas is getting ever closer. And at Allan Bank, come the winter months, we invite you to relax into a traditional family Christmas where you can make those images a reality.

A handmade Christmas

We love an old-fashioned homespun Christmas. Our art room has all you need to make a handmade Christmas card painted or drawn with your favourite festive art. Come along to our wreath making workshop in December and create a wreath for your front door from foraged materials – What’s On.

Dreaming of a white Christmas?

We certainly are and we’ve got everything ready for snowmen building when the time comes. We’ve got carrots, coal and scarves; all we need now is your creative skills and a little bit of snow – fingers crossed!

Winter woodland walk

Start your day with a frosty walk around our woodland. With fewer leaves on the trees this is the best time of year for views from the woods over the vale of Grasmere, while the mist hangs in the valley and snow caps the fell tops.

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear…

… At our Grasmere Glee carol concert, where everyone can join in for a good old sing song.  We’ll also be hosting a day of live Christmas classics to get you in the spirit. See our What’s On page for details.

Festive fun for you and your Santa Paws

Dogs love Christmas too, don’t they? Bring your dog to Allan Bank this year and after a romp through the woods, followed by a long snooze by the fire it certainly will.
