50 things to do before you're 11 3/4
Put on your wellies and head into the woodlands at Allan Bank to start ticking things off your '50 things' list.
- No. 1 Get to know a tree
- No .10 Play conkers
- No. 12 Have fun with sticks
- No. 22 Discover some funky fungi.
Be a wildlife spotter
Pick up one of our spotter guides from the welcome hut and see if you can discover some fascinating fungi growing in our woodland. The resident red squirrels will be busy scampering around the ground collecting for the winter, or bring your binoculars and see if you can spot any buzzards flying overhead. We’d love to see your findings on Facebook @NationalTrustAllanBank.
Be inspired by the Three Big Heads on the wall then head into our self-led creative space to have a go at designing your own. Chalk and charcoal are available free of charge or nature themed craft bags are available for a small donation to have a go at whilst your here, or to take home and continue the fun.
Perfect for play
Hide and Seek Our woods are the best for hide and seek because there are so many nooks and crannies to hide in, we like to use the sundial on the front lawn as a base to start from.
Natural playground Who needs a slide or climbing frame when you’ve got nature? Head to our natural play area to balance on a fallen log or build a den.
