Three big heads

A close up of the Coleridge portrait at Allan Bank

Allan Bank is a place where many people have lived, each with their own story. However, three of these people have changed the way we see the world, and our place within it.

125 years since the birth of the National Trust, we’re sharing the stories of Trust Co-founder, Hardwicke Rawnsley; Poet, William Wordsworth and Mountaineer, Samuel Coleridge through three giant portraits drawn straight onto the walls of the house by local artist, Sarah Jackman.

See these walls for yourself and be a little creative - we’ve plenty of drawing  and painting materials in our art room with floor to ceiling views that inspired these three amazing people.
