Short Repton Run Route (1.5 km)
This short beginner’s run route takes you on a gentle grass path in a circular route along the river in the Attingham Deer Park. The run is 1.5 km (nearly a mile) and starts from the Deer Park Bridge and is the first of three Repton run routes designed to get you confident going further. This route is great for beginners looking for an easy way to start, and the views will spur you on. The route is way-marked as the grey route. Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead.

From the car park, head through the Stables Courtyard bearing right following signs to the Mansion and Deer Park Walks. Head along the path at the side of the Mansion and follow the path across the front of the Mansion and down to the Deer Park gate passing through the gate in the parkland.

Turn to your left to find the first run marker, have a final stretch and you’re off.

Follow the path along, keeping the fence line and the river to your left until you arrive at the next marker where you turn right to head up an incline into the deer park.

Continue up through the parkland (being careful as this areas is home to deer and rabbits and the ground can be uneven) and follow the next marker to take the right hand path where it forks.

Continue along the path through the Deer Park (there is a deer sanctuary area to your left where you may sometimes spot the herd) until the next marker which you should follow to turn right to join the main path along the top of the Deer Park.

Continue along the main path with the park boundary on your left hand side until you pass the enormous fenced Repton oak on your left, then bending round along with the path to the right to head down the slope back towards the Deer Park gates. Congratulations you’ve just run 1.5km!
