Stone circle tours

Stone circle in a misty frost morning

If you'd like to learn more about the prehistory of Avebury and the people who built the henge and stone circles, then join us for a stone circle tour.

Our guides know the henge and stone circle like the back of their hands and are experts at transporting you back to the Neolithic, explaining about the people who built this spectacular structure, and how they achieved such a seemingly impossible task.

The tours run most days (subject to volunteer availability) at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and cost £5 for adults, children £2.50 and under 5s are free. Sign up at the Visitor Reception when you arrive.

Tours vary in length depending upon on the individual group, but are usually between 45 minutes and an hour.

Our tour guides are all volunteers and do a wonderful job of sharing their extensive knowledge and love of Avebury with visitors, come rain or shine.
