The National Trust hub at Avebury

Team welcoming visitors

You will receive a warm welcome at the World Heritage Site of Avebury.

Arriving by bus?  You'll find the path to the National Trust hub in the Old Farmyard about half way down the High Street on the right.

Arriving by car?  You can park in the main National Trust car park on the A4361 (members park for free), then follow the path at the north-east corner of the car park, this will take you to the High Street (approximately 500 yards away).  Then you can cross over the road and follow the path to the Old Farmyard.  Please note: there is parking for disabled blue badge holders (and residents only) in the National Trust car park in the High Street.

What will you find at the Old Farmyard?

Visitor reception

The main visitor reception is in the 17th century threshing barn.  This is where you can find out all about the National Trust site at Avebury, our friendly staff will do all they can to ensure you have a wonderful visit.  You'll also find out information about the World Heritage Site and what events are happening on the day or in the future.

Circles pop-up cafe

The cafe is temporarily located on the other side of the barn (while our main cafe is being refurbished).  Here you'll find hot meals, sandwiches, pasties, sausage rolls, scones, cakes, cream tea and hot and cold drinks.

Ice cream

Keep an eye out for the ice cream trike - selling refreshing Marshfield tub ice cream (available most days in summer).

Just need a cuppa?

Rather than queuing at the cafe, why not grab a tea or coffee from the tuk-tuk located near the barn (available most days in summer).

National Trust shop

We have a lovely shop in the Old Farmyard, selling a delightful range of souvenirs, gifts and treats, including clothes, food and drink, books, toys and more.

These are located behind the barn. Ladies, gents, disabled and baby changing are all available.

Picnic area

We have plenty seating for you if you've brought your own picnic.  In the summer you can borrow a blanket and sit on the grass, you can use the marquee for shelter from the sun or rain, there are tables available in the barn and most days there is seating in the dovecote.

National Trust staff

We're all very friendly, if you have a query, just ask anyone with a National Trust badge and we'll be happy to help.
