Decadence: Christmas at Basildon Park
Witness Basildon Park dripping in opulent Christmas décor and feel the glow of thousands of tree lights as we do Christmas the Victorian way.
Discover Christmas from Basildon Park's history, with this year focusing on lavish Victorian tradition.
The house will be decorated to the nines in huge trees and beautiful decorations that are sure to get you in the festive spirit.
Experience the house in a different way this festive season, on a candlelight tour of Basildon Park. Tickets are £20 each and include mulled wine and mince pies, and booking online is essential.
Our illuminated woodland walk to the mansion will be back this year, with thousands of twinkling lights - a perfect photo opportunity.
Please note that during wet weather we may have to switch the lights off temporarily.
There's also four waymarked routes in the parkland for more adventurous walkers, with fantastic views of the mansion and parkland. Pick up a map from Visitor Reception and get some fresh air outside, with some warming hot drinks afterwards available in the tea-room.
A Christmas memory for all the family
Basildon Park is the perfect place to bring the whole family and make some festive memories. After taking in the festive sights in the house, you and your family are invited to head to the café and enjoy some festive treats, or buy a gift for someone special in the shop.
Wreath making classes
We're hosting multiple wreath making classes with expert florist Jane, where you can learn how to create your very own wreath for your front door. Tickets are £45 each, bookable online, and include all materials with mince pies and hot drinks.
Christmas dinners at Basildon Park
After wandering around the house and seeing its lavish beauty, you can treat yourself to a festive 2 course dinner. Booking online is essential, and worth it, for a traditional Polseden Lacey bred turkey dinner with all the trimmings. There's portion sizes for little ones, too!
Please note that we will be serving Christmas lunches every weekday, from Monday 2 December until Friday 20 December, and pre-booking is essential.
