Visiting Basildon Park with your dog
Dogs on leads are welcome in the garden and parkland at Basildon Park all year round from 10am until 5pm, or dusk if earlier. Please help us by keeping your dog on a lead and picking up after it.
Where can my dog go?
There are four great parkland walks at Basildon that are ideal for exploring with your dog year round. The walks range in length from 0.5 miles to 3 miles. For a shorter walk take a stroll around the gardens towards the back on the house. Please keep your dog on a lead at all times.
During Spring and Summer we’re home to cattle so please help us and walk your dog on a lead. If cattle approach it may be appropriate to let your dog off the lead.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the shop and seating area of the tea-room. Please note that the shop and tea-room are currently closed.
What do I need to be aware of at Basildon Park?
To make sure everyone has an enjoyable day, please follow our canine code:
- Take the lead: help reduce the chance of your pup disturbing wildlife by keeping them on a lead.
- Scoop that poop: bag it and bin it to keep your favourite places beautiful.
- Paws for thought: look out for information signs.
- Be on the ball: not everyone loves dogs, so keep them close by.
Facilities available for my dog
We usually have bowls of water in the stableyard - please speak to a member of staff if these need refilling. We do not have a dog bin at Basildon Park.
