Visiting Basildon Park during the Easter Holidays

Spending time with the family at Basildon Park can be a truly special way to celebrate the Easter period. Easter is, however, one of the busiest times of the year at Basildon Park, especially the Easter weekend. Here are a few tips to make to most of your day, and to ensure a stress-free visit.

The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at Basildon Park this year will run for the entire 2 weeks of the Easter school holidays, so wehere possible try avoid the Easter weekend. For those who still plan to visit during the Easter weekend we want to make your day as fun as possible.

Arrive nice and early. The busiest time of day at Basildon Park is usually between 12pm and 2pm. To avoid the rush, aim to arrive early in the morning. Our doors open from 10am and remain open until 5pm.

Make a day of it and take your time. We’re open all day, so don’t feel you have to rush to complete the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt. Why not enjoy a picnic in the woods, play at 'Basilden' or explore further onto the parkland on one of the parkland walks.

Be aware of possible limited parking. As we are often very dependent on the weather, our parking availability often changes on a day to day basis. Hard standing spaces make up less than half of those available, so we often ask visitors to park in the overflow field. If this becomes saturated due to the wet weather, we have to close it. In this instance and when our carparks become full, we will operate a one in one out system for visitors.

Keep an eye online for regular updates. We regularly update the website, Facebook and Twitter about any changes to parking availability, so make sure to check before setting off to Basildon Park.
