Royal Wedding Celebrations
Your royal invitation awaits, celebrate Meghan and Harry's big day on Belton's Oval Lawn.
Harry and Meghan's wedding will take place at noon on Saturday 19 May 2018. Following the ceremony, Harry and Meghan will make their way through Windsor in a carriage before joining their guests at their reception. So, come along and enjoy some traditional English country garden fun with plenty of tea, cake and bunting at Belton House!
Celebrate all day, 9am – 5.30pm
Try your hand at traditional games including hook-a-duck and swot up on your royalty knowledge with the quiz or head to the family crafts table to make and decorate your own sparkly crown*. The big screen will, of course, be broadcasting live from Windsor all day.
Royal fancy dress
Bring your little ones in their royal regalia and head to the Mansion steps at 2pm for the procession. Your little treasures can show off the crowns they’ve made on the day, and the best fancy dressed boy and girl will be crowned king and queen of the day.
Decorated cake competition
Bring your cake decorated with the most inventive royal theme for the chance to win a cream tea for two in the Pavilion Café. Your design could be red, white and blue, crown shaped, a corgi cake, let your imagination go wild! Drop your entry off at the cake table on arrival; the winner will be announced after the 2pm parade. Remember to collect your culinary creation afterwards for the ultimate picnic pudding with your family.
Post a message on the big screen for your loved ones throughout the day. For £10 you can have your message on a banner across the screen while supporting the Boathouse appeal. Or, why not declare your love on stone and sponsor a slate to leave your mark on Belton’s history forever?
Head to the Pavilion Café for seasonal goodies including sandwiches, soups, hot dishes, cakes and children's meals. Belton’s volunteers will have a scrumptious selection of homemade cakes available* on the Oval Lawn, and you’re welcome to bring your own picnic too; you’ll find plenty of pretty spots at Belton for a lazy afternoon in the sun, hopefully!
Historically the Brownlow family commemorated royal celebrations with the local community, and we want to continue the tradition. Therefore, on Saturday 19 May 2018, in celebration of the Royal Wedding, admission to Belton house** and grounds will be free of charge to all.
