Learning beyond the page at Beningbrough

Girl lying on the floor concentrating on writing

Beningbrough's creative writing programme for schools explores and develops a variety of writing techniques inspired by the house, its art, its people and their stories. Weave the threads of history and imagination together to produce something wonderful.

Once upon a time…

Drawing inspiration from the hall, its architecture and contents, through to the people who lived and worked here. Past and present come together at Beningbrough to feed the imagination and stories of old sit alongside new stories - yet to be told.

We offer workshops in prose and poetry, individual and shared writing, all designed with the National Curriculum in mind to supplement classroom learning.

The day comprises both structured exercises and free-writing activities and will include opportunities to share and perform work. Choose from a menu of workshops to suit your pupils, all led by our experienced staff resulting in a portfolio of creative, collaborative work to take away.
