Head for the woodlands where you’ll find branches galore to build a perfect den. If you’d like some pointers, then look out for ‘Clive’s Den’ that we’ve built near the play trail.

Child flying a kite

No. 7 - Fly a Kite

Bring your kite to the paddocks and see if you can catch the breeze. There's nothing quite like the swell of the wind under your tethered airborne toy.

Make a trail to follow with sticks

No. 12 - Have fun with sticks

Pick up sticks – or fallen leaves – in the woods or gardens and lay a trail for your family to follow. Please don’t pick sticks from living trees or plants though.

No. 16 - Wear a wild crown

Gather natural materials, which has already fallen on the ground, such as flowers, feathers, twigs and leaves and use your imagination to create wild crowns and accessories to adorn yourself with.

Boy and girl hunting for bugs in the woods

No. 31 - Make friends with a bug

Delve under logs, look under rocks, peek between bits of bark and investigate with a magnifying glass between little blades of grass for little creatures that live in Cliveden's gardens and woodlands

Family on a walk in the woods

No. 34 - Discover wild animal clues

Get on your hands and knees to look up close for little paw prints. Can you see any dropping clues? Investigate those mysterious holes in the ground and see if you can track a wild animal.

Cliveden’s a haven for wildlife – keep your eyes peeled and listen carefully. To get a closer look, don’t forget your binoculars or you can buy a children’s pair in our shop.
