A gallery to view the gardens

Join us in the house and take a look at the Cory family home. Finished in 1895 the house shows the wealth and prosperity the family enjoyed. As you walk around the house you will notice that the gardens were designed with the house in mind, windows are aligned with the gardens to give grand vistas across the great lawn, the rockery and the arboretum.

A work in progress

The house has eleven rooms open to be explored, without an original collection the furnishings give an idea as to how the family would have used the rooms in their hayday. Look out for our incredibly ornate fireplaces too.

There's plenty to do this winter, challenge your family or friends to a game of billiards, have a go at some crafts in the Morning Room or snuggle up on the sofa in the Red Library, now our second hand book shop.

The house will be decorated for Christmas from the last weekend in November. See the tree glittering in the Great Hall, lengths of paperchains in the Morning Room and garlands of evergreen swathed around the bannisters.
