Saddlescombe Farm Campsite site rules

To ensure everyone who stays at Saddlescombe Farm campsite has a great holiday, we have a few simple site rules.
Arrival Times
After 7am and before 9pm.
Departure times
Please leave by noon on your day of departure. If you wish to extend your stay, please use the honesty box or talk to one of our rangers.
Minimum and maximum stay
1 night minimum, maximum 2 nights.
Parking
Saddlescombe Farm is a car free campsite. The nearest car parks are opposite the farm entrance or at Devil's Dyke (20 minutes’ walk away).
Dogs
Saddlescombe is a working farm. Please keep your dog on a lead.
Quiet please
We ask that our visitors are always considerate to their neighbours, but 'quiet please' between 10pm and 7am.
Pitches
This is a free pitch site. Please use your common sense and respect other campers’ space.
Groups / maximum occupancy
We are happy to welcome organised groups such as educational groups, DofE, Scouts, Guides etc. Proof of group status may be required when booking. Any party larger than 4 adults and 4 children are considered a group. Family and friend groups are only accepted with prior agreement, but our site is not suitable for stag, hen or birthday parties. All group leaders must have completed and returned a group booking form, including full details of the number in the party, and number of tents and vehicles. Please contact saddlescombefarmcampsite@nationaltrust.org.uk or call 01273 857712 to request a group booking form.
Fires / BBQs
For obvious reasons campfires are not allowed. BBQs are permitted provided they are raised off the ground. Ask the campsite team for stones if necessary.
Safety
Cooking inside tents or pods is NOT permitted and can be lethal due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Problem or complaint
Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure that the camping pitch and site amenities are presented to a high standard. Should you find any cause for complaint, please immediately contact one of the Rangers, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. The National Trust will not normally make any refunds in respect of complaints made after the Visitor’s departure from the campsite if the Visitor did not make the problem or complaint known to staff during the Visitor’s stay. All complaints made after the Visitor’s departure should be made in writing by post or email to:
