Start your exploration of Lavenham with a quick takeaway coffee and maybe some cake, or better still treat yourself to a light lunch in the serenity of the Guildhall's courtyard garden. Escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the fresh air and quietness of our small garden set against the splendour of one of the finest wooden buildings in Lavenham.
Tea and coffee 'al fresco' with friends.
Relax with friends and enjoy coffee and cake in the garden. Better still, how about a light lunch in the courtyard garden at the Guildhall. We have reduced the number of tables to comply with social distancing guidelines and keep everyone safe. In line with government guidance visitors, will be required to wear a face covering in our enclosed spaces. Please bring one along with you.
Treat yourself to a cuppa and a tasty treat. Looking for something more substantial? How about a light lunch or a sandwich; a sausage roll and a snack. We also have a great selection of homemade cakes and biscuits, and for a special treat why not treat yourself to an ice cream?
If you’d like to stay a while, enjoy your lunch in the courtyard garden sampling the simple pleasures this space has to offer. There are conveniences available to those tea room customers who use the garden.
Tea Room opening times
The tearoom is open from 10.30am to 4.00pm, five days a week. As these days and times are liable to change, please do check our opening times before your visit to avoid disappointment. Please note that the Guildhall itself and our shop remain closed at the present time.
Scone of the month
Keep an eye out for the return of our scone of the month. Each month our talented kitchen team creates a new scone recipe on sale in the tea room to surprise our regular visitors. In the past, these have included both sweet and savoury versions, so be sure to keep an eye out and perhaps even suggest your own original combinations!
If you have an allergy or intolerance, please let us know. We make most of our food here in our busy kitchen, using a wide range of ingredients. Whilst we do our best, we can’t guarantee that any of our products are totally allergen free. For more information please click here.
Doing our bit for the environment
Due to Coronavirus we are using takeaway cups and crockery to ensure the safety of our staff. At the National Trust we use Vegware packaging made from plants for many of our disposables, which means they're fully compostable.
