Fell Foot will host Sarah Tew for C-Art 2016, 10 – 25 Sept
Sarah Tew's interdisciplinary practice straddles mediums such as painting, installation and photography. Her ongoing devoted relationship to the abundance of nature and its uncertainty allows Sarah to explore in situ experiments which are in flux.
Works of this nature will be presented within the context Fell Foot’s Discovery Cottage. With materials such a water, food dyes, blotting paper and chromatography paper being involved.
Along side this, a series of small scale drawings and editions which illustrate her practice will be on display and for sale in the mezzanine of the boathouse café. These will include drawings of birds-eye views of Cumbria and beyond, plus portraits of individuals who have contributed to Cumbria’s rich cultural history.
Working between Cumbria and her London studio, recent projects include Doremifasolasido Residency at Florence Arts Centre, Egremont and Window Galleries at Central Saint Martins, UAL, London. Sarah received the inaugural Cumbrian Artist of the Year 2015.
C-Art is a county wide open studio trail, allowing visitors to meet local artists and see their work. Fell Foot is part of Art in Extraordinary Places, bringing art to new or unusual spaces. For more information visit www.c-art.org.uk.
