Activity base for lease at Gupton Farm in Pembrokeshire

The National Trust is looking for an activity provider to operate from this historic farmstead and enable visitors to experience the joy of the outdoors in this remote and special part of Britain.

The new activity base will be available to lease from the 2018 season onwards.

Our vision for Gupton Farm activity base

Gupton Farm is the gateway to Freshwater West and the surrounding area, with new camping and farmhouse accommodation on-site, along with walking trails and a bespoke round timber bird hide for visitors to enjoy.

We’ve worked hard to reinvent this special place, but there’s still more to be done! The next phase of our work is to inject a new lease of life into the former milking shed and create an activity base and community hall.

With the support of the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government, and Cotswold Outdoor, work will begin in late 2017 and will be complete in May 2018.

We envisage that the activity base will enhance the offer at Gupton Farm and Freshwater West, providing further engagement with visitors, creating employment opportunities within the local community and strengthening local connections with the farm.

What facilities will be available?

The successful activity provider will operate within a newly renovated building with shipping container storage available on-site. Please view the Gupton Farm activity base information pack for further details on the facilities provided and the building plans.

What kind of activity provider is the Trust seeking?

The Trust views this tenancy as a long-term partnership and it is therefore essential that any applicant is committed to our aims of delivering great experiences, providing public access, involvement and enjoyment whilst protecting special places like Freshwater West for ever, for everyone.

We’re open to activity ideas and would welcome proposals that are appropriate for the farmstead setting, inspired by natural resources and supportive of the local community.
