- Bookshop
Grantham House has a second-hand bookshop, offering the opportunity to peruse and pick up your next read.
- Café
The café, within Grantham House itself, serves hot and cold refreshments, sandwiches, snacks and cakes and offers indoor and outdoor seating.
- Dogs allowed
Dogs on short leads are welcome on the ground floor of the house including the café and in the gardens.
- Toilet
There is a visitor toilet within the house on the ground floor.
The Grantham House team are available at the information point to support you with your visit. There is level access on the ground floor of the house only, this will include access to the accessible toilet when it opens soon, with a mixture of flag stone and carpeted flooring throughout. Visitor toilet has stepped access. Some uneven surfaces with gravelled pathways and grassland in the gardens.

Very limited accessible parking is available for visitors next to entrance courtyard which must be booked in advance. Please contact Grantham House team in advance to reserve your accessible parking space.

- Steps/uneven terrain
The grounds at Grantham House, due to its historic setting, can be uneven. Step free routes with gravelled pathways around the house and the Walled Garden, and uneven grass terrain that is seasonally muddy. Steady gradient throughout the gardens, leading upwards from the River Witham to the house.

- By road
- Located just off the A607, on Castlegate. Exit the A1 at Gonerby Moor and follow B1174 to Castlegate. If travelling from Nottingham A52, join the A607 and follow the A607/ B1174, turning right onto Castlegate. Grantham House is on the left-hand side.Parking: There is no visitor parking available at Grantham House. Ample parking available in Grantham, not National Trust (there is a charge, including members). Limited accessible parking on site close to the entrance courtyard. There is no visitor parking on Castlegate.
- By train
- The nearest railway station is Grantham (1 mile away), a 20-minute walk from Grantham House. There are direct trains to Grantham from: Peterborough, Nottingham and Doncaster (about 30 mins), Leeds and London Kings Cross (about 60 mins).
- By bus
- Regular buses, passing close to Grantham train station, every day. Nearest bus stops to site are located at Grantham, The Kings School or Grantham, Vine Street; 0.2 miles and 5-minute walks from Grantham House.
- Cycling
- Cycle parking is available in the entrance courtyard, close to the house Plan your route to Grantham House using the CycleStreets journey planner via the by bicycle link below. (This journey planner uses OpenStreetMap data which is generally excellent, but accuracy cannot be guaranteed. If you come to a footpath or other cycle-prohibited track, please don't ride on it).
