Winthrop's Café

Winthrop's Café has a selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes, sandwiches and ice creams for you to enjoy on your visit to Hidcote. The Café is open 7 days a week from 10am until one hour before the Gardens close. The cafe had indoors and outdoor seating for visitors to enjoy.

If you have any allergies, please speak with a member of staff at the till and they can assist you with the product information.

Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer the service of warming any liquids such as baby milk.

Winthrop's cafe may look a little different while we work to maintain the safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors.Therefore we've introduced a few safety measures including:

  • A one-way system into the cafe, entrance via the Gardener's Courtyard.
  • Hand sanitiser is available for customers and colleagues to use.
  • We've installed protective screens at till points.
  • Face coverings are recommended in enclosed, crowded areas.

The Barn Café

Located near the car park, by the Plant Centre, the Barn Café is a great refreshment stop for visitors taking in one of the local walks or browsing the plants in the Plant Centre. The Café will be serving a limited takeaway menu with soft and cold drinks, ice coffee and soft scoop ice cream. There is a small selection of seating for the Barn Cafe located at the back of the Plant Centre.

Visitors to the Barn Café do not need to pay the normal admission fee. Please check the website for opening times of the Barn Café on our home page.

Picnicking at Hidcote

For visitors wishing to picnic at Hidcote, you'll find a designated picnic area under the lime avenue, beside the top car-park, with glorious panoramic views across the three counties.
